A client asked me how she could use sage to help clear energy from her husband, a Vietnam combat veteran. He has been disturbed by the death of his friend on the battlefield for many years. Here is a basic technique for clearing unwanted energy from a person.
Be sure you have windows open. The energy off your friend or client will get picked up by the sage and then move out the window with the smoke of the sage. You can use just part of the sage wand by taking it apart. Unwrap the string if it is bound and separate the spears. Use one of the spears for this saging and keep the others for future use. Have a shell if possible under the sage to collect the ash. Light the sage, allowing a small portion to ignite and begin smoking.
The person can be standing or sitting for their saging. Walk around them in a circle, starting low around their feet and ankles and then move up and make sure the smoke is making contact with their body and bouncing off. Then have them lie on a couch and do energy swipes with your hands starting from the crown chakra and moving down their body, sides of head, neck, chest, arms torso, hips, legs calves and feet. Be sure to do this three times and set the intention of moving away any energy that is not there for their highest good. While you are doing this, you can have a second sage spear smoking in the dish to help move the energy. You would then turn on a fan to help move the energy out the window. If possible, have your friend/client wear or hold a black tourmaline or turquoise during the clearing and for awhile afterward. These stones help keep unwanted energy away from their energy field.
